Board Minutes - 12/12

Minutes of the Meeting of December 5, 2012

The meeting was called to order by President Donna Jones at 1:10.

The minutes of the November meeting were read and approved.

Nancy Andrews reported that there were 80 reservations for the December luncheon at The Tournament Players Club. There is also a waiting list of 4 or 5. Jeannine requested help in setting up the luncheon and had several volunteers. The January luncheon will be held at Marie Callendar’s. The menu entrees are Chicken Pot Pie, Salmon with rice, meat loaf with mashed potatoes and vegetable pasta.

Mikki audited the books and complemented Trish on a job well done. The audit revealed that there are several committees that are very close to their budget. Some adjustments need to be made. The board will continue this discussion in January.

Irene reported that there are now 166 members. There were two new ladies at the last coffee but as yet had not joined. Millie suggested that they be called to remind them.

The January and February board meetings will be at Irene's clubhouse, the March and April board meetings will be at Sandi Cates' clubhouse.

Gwen asked that a special e-mail be sent to members reminding them of the toy drive at the December luncheon.

The Sinatra outing in December is completely booked. There is a waiting list.

Vagabonds have an outing planned for February. There will be more details after Christmas.

Donna reminded the board that Article 9 of the By Laws require the president to get a nominating committee together for the next year's board. She passed around a list for current members to sign up if they wish to continue in their present position or would like to try something new.

Karen Fine reported that Jodie Baker will perform with her dance group at the April meeting. In March, there will possibly be a speaker.

Game day will be on January 28. Soda and water will be provided, but members are requested to bring their own lunch.

Gwen and Nancy will be hostesses for the January board meeting.

Donna reminded everybody that the $10 toy we bring to the luncheon might be the only toy a child receives at Christmas.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:08.

Respectfully submitted,
