Board Minutes - 4/13

Minutes of the Board Meeting of April 3, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. at the home of Nalini Amin by Nancy Andrews who was filling in for Donna who was on vacation.

The minutes of the March 6 meeting were read and approved.

There were no new reports for either luncheon programs or decorations.  Jeanine Boren requested ideas for favors for future luncheons.  Anne Pfeiffer sent around the sign up list for the April luncheon.

Nancy Andrews reported that we now have 176 members.  Mikki Garside said that if there were no changes since last year, it was not necessary to fill out a new application, but just send her the check for the dues.

Trish Mooring passed out the proposed new budget for next year.  A discussion of the proposal followed and suggestions were made for further revisions.  It was decided to table the issue to the May board meeting at which time a vote will be taken to approve the new budget.

Barri Boren reported that the newsletter was late due to changes that Google made as to when everything is due.  They neglected to tell us that the ten days before publication means business days, not calendar days.  In other words, the materials have to be in to them two weeks in advance of the newsletter.

Once again the problem of non- members being involved in playing the games was brought up.  Laurie Prince suggested that if there are non- members involved, the group be removed from out listing.  Carla Crancer will ask for names of all group members after the new year begins and update the activities list.

Carolyn Wolf reported that she calls new members after the coffee to remind them of the meetings.

Dorothy Karnes reminded us of the Huntington Gardens trip for April 18.  Barri Boren asked for photos from members attending this outing for the president's book.

Gwen said the amount of publicity we get is at the mercy of The Signal.

The next board meeting will be at Sandi Cates' clubhouse.  Milly and Carla will bring refreshments.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:55.

Respectfully submitted,
