Board Minutes - 6/13

Minutes of the Meeting of June 5, 2013

After a scrumptious pot luck lunch in the home of Shirley Lamoureaux, President Nancy Andrews called the meeting to order at 1 p.m.

She reported that Carla Crancer’s husband had a heart attack so Carla is needing help for the activities.  Anyone who can help, should call Carla.

The minutes of the May board meeting were read and approved.

Karen Forte reminded us that the June luncheon is at The Tournament Players Club and will be a buffet.  The menu items include Chicken Piccata, Pasta Primavera salad and dessert.  The July luncheon will be at The New Moon and August at Caruso’s on Sierra Highway.

Mikki reported that there are 161 paid members, 9 have resigned due to moving, etc., and 11 have not responded to e-mails or phone calls.  She needs updates from the various games chairman by June 10 for the newsletter.

Trish reported that there is $7,300.05 in the treasury.  There was $2,884 in income and expenditures of $1,420.41.  She has copies of the new budget for the folders for those who need them.

Barri reminded us to e-mail both her and Mikki by the 10th of the month with any news to be put into the newsletter.  Alyce once again requested that you have it print ready, i.e., exactly the way you want it to go into the newsletter and that names are spelled correctly.

Directories will be mailed as soon as they come back from the printer.

Alyce reported on the programs that have been scheduled so far.  There will be a program at the August luncheon presented by Chuck Morris.  He is in charge of bringing the Viet Nam Wall to the Santa Clarita Valley in September.  November will see the Singing Sisters back again.  The holiday luncheon will once more feature Patty Finley.  At the January luncheon, we will have the second annual white elephant sale of new items we have received, but just don’t fit into our lifestyles.

Barri presented Donna with the memory book that commemorates her year as president.

As of this date, there are 31 reservations for the June luncheon.  Donna will do the favors for this luncheon as Jeanine will not be here.

Jodi Baker requested time at the June luncheon to thank the tea hostesses and to present them with a gift.

The next board meeting will be on July 3 at the home of Karen Forte.  Call her to reserve a spot.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:52 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
