President's Letter

My Dear Newcomers and Friends,

One of my favorite things is spending time with you.  It makes the big things in life seem a little bit smaller and the little things in life seem a lot more special.  Thanks for being there, for listening, laughing and sharing your hearts.  You enrich Newcomers with your unique gift of self.  Our life experiences are the tapestry of colorful memories woven together as Newcomers.  We look forward to Nancy Andrews becoming our new president.  She loves working in the soil, cultivating, planting and pruning and making beautiful flowers grow.  We, the Newcomers, are that soil waiting to bloom with Nancy's loving touch.

I am looking forward to the board members as always working together and joyfully supporting each other in the coming year.

We have a membership at this point of 179.  We have been a club under the leadership of wonderful past presidents since 1985.  I am your 28th president.  The club needs your help and your support in the following areas:  historian, social committee (3-4 people)  and vagabonds (4 people).  Won't you please give it some thought and step up to help fill these positions.

Like a diamond with many facets, you will shine as we look forward to another wonderful year of fun and fellowship.

Thank you for making my year as president a joyful one, chatting and chewing with you over wonderful lunches, enjoying music together, singing and rocking the room with our enthusiasm and love.

With love always,
Donna Jones, President

SOCIAL CLUB

Our trip to the Huntington Library in April has come and gone. We hope those of you who attended the tour and tea enjoyed yourselves.

That was our last trip, as we are not remaining as the social club for the coming year.

We hope you have enjoyed the social club’s efforts in providing the last few years of outings for you.

And we would like to thank all of you who joined us in our outings for supporting us.

AFTERNOON TEA GROUPS
Bon Jour to all.  The April Tea was held at Charnell Tressel's home with 10 wonderful ladies present. Charnell chose a Country French Theme and it was delightful!  Some of the ladies wore a beret, some not and we all looked adorable.  So many French touches were at the table that we felt as if we were indeed in the French countryside.  We also were challenged by a quiz that reminded us of French history.

Bravo Charnell.  We look forward to next month which will be a Garden Theme.

What could be nicer than sharing a cup of tea with friends?

Hi dear Ladies,

No news is good news.
My oldest grand children and my great grand baby arrived for a surprise visit.
First time we have ever seen Myles, He is 2 1/2 yr old bundle of cuteness packaged as what I would call a "Hurricane-tornado mix". Pure love, joy and on high alert.

Good news. Carla
