MONTHLY UPDATE -  DECEMBER 2015

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Can you believe we are half way through this club year?  For that matter it is hard to believe 2015 is almost over, but, it is and we have so many interesting and fun things in the works for us to share. The December luncheon at the Paseo Club is sure to be a great kick off to the holidays along with the December Christmas Tea on the 8th and the Cookie Exchange with a photo booth on Saturday, the 12th of December.

Your amazing board members have been working hard for us and I feel so fortunate to be a part of this team. I really have gotten to know these ladies and feel such a kinship with them. The board meetings have been not only productive but also full of sharing and laughter.  I have been asked what I put in the tea that is served at the board meetings. The answer is…..nothing. We just have a good time while combining business with pleasure. Remember, all are welcome at board meetings. The December board meeting will be at my home on December 2nd at 1:00.  Call to reserve a chair.

I wish all of you a joyful Holiday Season and hope you will join me in a prayer for Peace on Earth and a Happy New Year.

In Friendship, Jodie Baker

NOVEMBER LUNCHEON AND GENERAL MEETING

The November Luncheon and General Meeting was held at Black Angus which opened for lunch just for us!  The food choices were many, and delicious, and the cookies even better! The meeting started with an introduction of our guest speaker, a Sees candy for all, and then the lucky lady with a tag on the bottom of her plate received the center piece – a beautiful candle that will be a nice addition to any Thanksgiving table. Following our meal, Terry Sonntag (Antique Appraisal Services) spoke to us about the value of antiques and things that many of us have been collecting for years. He was very informative and answered many questions we had. He is also a docent at Vasquez Rocks and a man of many talents. Finally, we were entertained with a skit performed by the Cruise committee who adorned sailor caps and enacted boarding the bus to the cruise ship. What fun the cruise is going to be! See you at the December Luncheon and General Meeting which will no doubt be fun and entertaining!

Tea Ladies

The fragrance of pumpkin, ginger and nutmeg welcomed us to the home of Diane Millikin, where we celebrated Fall. Once again, the food was wonderful and included a delicious cranberry jello, tea sandwiches and a layered Italian cake. We shared famous quotes about being thankful, enjoying what we have and not focusing on what we don't have, and appreciating even the small things. We also shared some of our family traditions, best memories of a Thanksgiving past, and favorite Thanksgiving dishes. Thank you, Kathy Kunkel, for being a great co-hostess.

I would like to again remind everyone that I have sign-up sheets for every month in 2016, and they are starting to fill up!  Please let me know ASAP if you want to be added to the guest list for any month.  I always have a waiting list if the guest list is full.

As always, if you want to attend any of the Teas, please contact me either by email at jmw2kdsdog2@yahoo.com or phone: 661-255-1619.  If the guest list is full, I always have a waiting list.
