President’s Message
Why do Americans celebrate St Patrick’s Day. I celebrate it because it is my husband’s birthday. Why do you celebrate this day?
Americans celebrate St. Patrick’s Day to honor the Irish heritage and culture, as well as the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick. The holiday is widely observed in the United States due to the large Irish immigrant population and has become a festive occasion for people of all backgrounds to participate in parades, wear green, and enjoy traditional Irish food and music. Over time, St. Patrick’s Day has evolved into a celebration of Irish-American identity and a way to come together with friends and family.
The Irish love a good limerick, so here is mine:
There once was a day dressed in green,
When shamrocks and joy could be seen.
With parades on the street,
And laughter so sweet,
St. Patrick’s Day shines bright and serene.
Whatever you decide to do on St Patrick’s Day, do it with family or friends and enjoy yourself.
