RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR – OPEN POSITION
Do you enjoy meeting new people and sharing what you love about the Newcomers Club? This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and become part of the Board – an experience many members find both rewarding and fun.
Coffee Corners meet once a month at a variety of restaurants throughout Santa Clarita. As Coordinator, you choose the location and simply communicate with the restaurant to make arrangements. These breakfast gatherings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM.
Coffee Corners are a fun, relaxing morning that is all about connections – meeting new members, sharing laughs and yummy food. If you like helping others to feel comfortable and included, this role is a perfect fit!
You won’t be doing it alone – Board members support one another, and guidance is always available. It’s a great way to contribute, connect, and be part of the club’s heart.
Below is a copy of the position description:
The Recruitment Coordinator shall be responsible for arranging monthly Membership Coffees and other approved activities to encourage growth in membership, including assistance at luncheons to welcome new members.
The Recruitment Coordinator shall contact all new members, welcome them to the club, and assist new members to become part of the club whenever needed. The Recruitment Coordinator shall provide a monthly update for our Website to meet the required deadline.
The Recruitment Coordinator shall prepare an updated detailed position description and appropriate written reports at the end of the term to aid new board members in carrying out their duties or prior to the meeting of the Nominating Committee in January if needed.
Please direct any questions or share your interest with the club president, Joey Dieringer
COFFE CORNER

This group alternates months with DOG, meeting in February and every other month after, six times a year.
- Groups of 6-8 people, including couples or individuals, take turns hosting meals in their homes.
- Each group decides how they want to organize their gathering for a meal together.
- The host typically prepares the main course with attendees bringing either an appetizer, salad, vegetable, or dessert.
- Groups are organized by the DIG & DOG chairperson.
- Group members rotate, and a large group gathering may occur once a year.
Dining Out (DOG)
- The groups are comprised of 6-8 people who meet every other month starting in January, with a total of 6 times per year.
- Groups meet at a restaurant of their choosing for either breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. The date and time are decided by the group.
- Rotating group members are assigned by the DIG & DOG chairperson.
- Once the group members are notified by email, one person in the group coordinates the gathering logistics.
